From Lakeport Speedway Racing, to the Lake County Sesquicentennial Celebration, the storms and flooding on Clear Lake in March, to our newest project called “Lake County Views,” it has been a very busy year for us here at Velocity Video. The video below is just a very small sample of the things we have done through the course of 2011.

While this year has been incredibly exciting for us, we feel 2012 will be even better. We’re looking forward to another fantastic and sensational year for Velocity Video and we hope you’ll join us for the ride.

In our first installment of “Lake County Views”, we visited the Lakeport Senior Center, which is a mecca of daily activities.  We followed Executive Director Jonathan Crooks through one day of events that began with prepping of Meals on Wheels.

The chef and volunteers prepare meals for drivers to pick up and deliver to approximately 175 clients daily. This went off with precision.  Each driver has a designated route in which to deliver hot meals.

We were then shown the large hall where an exercise class was in progress.  The Center always has nicely decorated tables ready for the lunch crowd.  There are always many activities to benefit seniors and members of the community from lunch, bingo, bridge and movies to referral services offered by office staff.

After a short walk across the street to the Community Garden and Play Ground we headed for the newly opened Thrift Store on Main Street in Lakeport.  This store is very large and well arranged.  If you’re looking for anything from dishes to tools or books or decorative items, this is definitely the place to start. The store also accepts donations of merchandise to stock the shelves.

Day 1 of the 2011 KXBX October Classic at the Lakeport Speedway is just hours away. Our crew is busy setting up our equipment so we are ready to go at race time.

Racing begins tonight at 5:30PM. Trophy dashes and heat races are tonight, followed by main events tomorrow. Following racing tonight, the speedway will have a fireworks show and demolition derby.

The racing card for this year’s Classic includes the Modifieds, Mini Stocks, Jammers, Bombers, Extreme Outlaws and Street Stocks. Also racing on Saturday are the BCRA Midgets and on Sunday, the INEX Legends of the Pacific will take to the track. In addition to the racing, Lakeport Speedway will be hosting a Demolition Derby and a fireworks show on Saturday night.

Velocity Video will have the entire event covered from start to finish. Both days our coverage will include pre- and post-race shows, as well as non-stop coverage of the racing action.
